SCOOTER PARKING

Due to space issues and safety concerns, scooters are no longer allowed inside the school. Scooters can be locked to the bicycle racks outside the building.  We are hoping these proactive measures will still allow for the wheels to be used as transportation - while also having a safe parking area in the yard. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.

WORLD CHANGERS

World Changers launched their first Free the Children campaign of the year "We Take Charge".  For the month of September, we are making weekly pledges to reduce our negative impacts on the environment and to boost our positive ones such as packing no-waste lunches and walking to school. "We Take Charge" is all about setting goals, learning the power of our daily choices and living more sustainably.

TOONIES FOR TERRY

Send in your  Toonies for Terry starting on Monday! All in the name of cancer research. Students can bring their toonies to the office.

AFTER 4 PROGRAM

We have several new lunch time and after school programs that are available for sign up. Please go to http://brownschool.ca/clubs/after-4-programs/.

Please note that we are encouraging parents to use online payment or payment by cheque when possible.

Practices for ACT ONE Productions begin this Tuesday. Get your registration forms in! There is one correction to the flyer for The Wizard of Oz.  It should read "Children will rehearse for ten sessions each Tuesday to prepare for the performance of THE WIZARD OF OZ."

Please feel free to contact Lily McMillan if you have any questions.

POLICE CHECK FOR VOLUNTEERS

If you would like to volunteer in the school a police check is necessary.  Please come to the office for the form.  The police cheque is $20.  Please make the cheque payable to Brown Public School.

FROM THE MUSIC ROOM

Grade 5 students who want to join the band program can meet Mr. Mills in the music room on Thursday, September 24th at lunch time. Mr. Mills will then begin to enrol interested students.

Junior Choir will begin their regular rehearsals on Day 5 at lunch in the music room. Our first rehearsal will be on Monday, September 21.

KINDERGARTEN PARENTS

Everyone has questions! I (Jamie Ryan) am the new Kindergarten rep on Parent Council so if you have any questions feel free to email me (jamie@executivegolf.ca) and I will hunt down the answer.  Also, we have started a new FAQ in the Kindergarten Corner of the website so keep an eye on that. See you at the playground!
