WE ARE THE LUCKIEST!
Another incredible week at Brown! Teams playing their best! A mural going up on the gym wall! Field trips! Prep for a science share and drama performances! Report Cards and a School Dance! We thank you for all of your support!
'TIS THE SEASON FOR BROWN WEAR!
Due to the incredible demand, there will be one more clothing pop-up shop before the holidays. We are stocked up on zip-up hoodies, sweatpants, toques, t-shirts and water bottles!
The shop will be running on Wednesday, December 16th from 2:45pm - 4pm outside the Office. This is a great chance to get your last minute holiday gifts!
We now accept Visa and MasterCard (and cash).
ECO COMMITTEE UPDATE
Trashy Tuesday. Thank you to our dedicated Kindergarten children that helped pick up trash this week. The yard was in great shape with very little trash - thank you to our Brown School Carestaff! And to all of the parents and children that are increasingly taking Litterless Lunches to school! The main offenders this week were again granola bars and chip bags. Check out our Litterless Lunch tip below about popcorn! Switch from single serving chip bags to homemade popcorn! More nutritious and just as delicious!
Tips for a more eco-friendly holiday season. Here is some gift-giving inspiration from the Queen of Green and the David Suzuki Foundation to mix into your holiday gift buying routine. This advice just inspired our team to rethink our "Christmas Lists" http://www.davidsuzuki.org/blogs/queen-of-green/2015/11/how-to-give-the-gift-of-time/
New Year and New Opportunities. Are you inspired by all of the work being done by our Global Leaders at the Climate Summit in Paris last week? We are really hopeful our children will benefit from this renewed focus. In January, the Eco Committee is looking for volunteers to help Brown regain its Eco-School Status! We need volunteers to help with Recycling Initiatives, Energy Reduction, Spring Gardening and to organize our Speakers Series. The maximum time commitment would be less than 2 hours/week. PUPIL ACCOMMODATION REVIEW POLICY
The Pupil Accommodation Review policy deals with the review of groups of schools with low enrolment that can potentially lead to school closures. The Community Planning and Partnerships policy concerns potential partnerships with external organizations in operating schools that have unused space. Both policies affect the use of schools and therefore affect students.
As part of our consultation process, we are seeking feedback from staff, parents, and community members.
Feedback can be provided in different ways:
- Send written feedback to accommodationreviews@tdsb.on.ca by January 29, 2016
