KISS AND RIDE

Please note that today was the last day for our Kiss & Ride program for this school year. You are welcome to use the Kiss & Ride area next week for dropping off (construction permitting) but there won't be parent volunteers there to help out.

At this time we'd like to send a sincere thanks to all the parents who volunteer their time to keep the program running. We'd especially like to thank our outgoing Kiss and Ride Chair Mary Ann Stewart for all of her hard work and dedication to this vital Brown Program.

Kiss & Ride will resume the second week of September. If you would like to help out next year please contact Connie Wansbrough at conniewansbrough@gmail.com - we are always looking for new volunteers and it only requires about 15 minutes once or twice a month!

BROWN CLOTHING - END OF YEAR POP UP: TUESDAY JUNE 28TH AT 8:30 AM

Stock up for summer!  We've still got a large selection of Brown branded items, including t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, baseball T's, sunglasses and water bottles.  Plus - come check out our discount table of $5 t-shirts!  We'll be set up in the Upper Playground, weather permitting (otherwise inside in front of the office).

MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY

Dear Students/Families,
First, some BIG THANK YOUs...
Thank you to everyone for returning all of the library books borrowed this year! They will be sorted and ready for you when you return in September!
Thank you very much to the parents who have donated great library books for the whole school to use, and to the many parents who have given their time and efforts in the library - our school library would not be possible without our parent volunteers!
Thank you very much to our Library Ambassadors, the students who have given up a few recesses each week to help sort the books. They did an amazing job!
Please take a minute to read about the TD Summer Reading Club.

The TD Summer Reading Club is an inclusive, bilingual program that strives to engage all children in the joy of reading during the summer months while championing Canadian writers and illustrators. The library offers free programs, activities and reading recommendations for children throughout the year and around the Club's theme during the summer.

Starting June 25th you can go into any Toronto Public Library branch to register your child and receive a free notebook and web access code to begin your summer reading. Ask staff to tell you about the fun programs and activities they have planned and to recommend some great reads to get you started.

New this year, there is a special incentive for joining the Club on June 25: Children who register on June 25 will have the chance to win VIP tickets to an upcoming Toronto Blue Jays home game.

Have a wonderful summer 2016!
Marie-France Gagnon

DOGS

Please remember that dogs are not allowed on school property, no matter how cute or friendly. Dogs cannot be in our play areas nor in the school.

AVENUE ROAD DROP-OFF

There is NO safe drop-off zone on Avenue Road.

1. Stopping on Avenue Road to let a child out of the car is extremely unsafe.

2. The North Driveway of the school is NOT ACCESSIBLE to parents. This area needs to be reserved for AUTHORIZED users only.

Please think twice before using either of these areas to drop off your children. WE HAVE CONTACTED POLICE SERVICES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND THEY WILL BE MONITORING THE DRIVEWAY AND AVENUE ROAD.

Driving around the block is a pain, but is it worth a life?
