We invite your entire family to participate by purchasing the latest and greatest in children’s books. Your support of this vital literary event is a key part of helping us obtain new books and resources for our library and classrooms.

You will find hundreds of quality books at our Book Fair with a wide assortment for all reading levels, in both French and English.

The flyer also contains a special Family Event Draw ballot that parents can deposit during our Family Event. You could win $50 in books – $25 for your family PLUS $25 for your child’s classroom!

All classes will have time to visit the Fair and we will tell you the week prior the Book Fair.

Also, we will need parent volunteers during the Fair. If you can spare some time, please let Mme Gagnon or your child's teacher know.

We look forward to seeing you during our Scholastic Book Fair and thank you, in advance, for supporting this great literary event. Thank you for believing in books and the impact of reading on your child’s future.

WORLD CHANGERS UPDATE

On April 8 World Changers had a representative from Free The Children talk about the organization to an assembly of Grades 2-6 and then run a working session with 30 World Changers. The kids learned about some of the pillars required to make a community function such as Education, Clean Water & Sanitation, Agriculture, Health, and Sustainable Income. They also learned about a new application: www.we365.com which offers up little challenges that individuals of all ages can act on to try and make a difference in their community.

On April 17 we will recognize We Are Silent - a day for all students to stand in solidarity and recognize the millions of girls contending poverty, exploitation and the denial of their rights. Depending on grade level, students are asked to observe some period of the day in silence (a true challenge for some!)

MOVIE NIGHTS COMING SOON TO BROWN SCHOOL - April 21 & 23 are World Changers movie nights. Just $5/person covers admission and a bag of popcorn (popcorn refills will be $2). April 21 will be the Junior Movie night (movie to be determined with input from the kids) and on April 23, we will be showing Paddington to the Primary Group. On both evenings the movie will begin at 6 p.m. All proceeds will go to support our Ève la Chèvre campaign bringing goats to families in need in India.

If you have any questions, please contact World Changers co-chairs, Allison Fortier <allisonfortier@rogers.com> and Laura Finch <laura.finch@me.com>.
