REMEMBRANCE DAY

On Wednesday we commemorated Remembrance Day with a beautiful assembly, led by Ms. Turner. All students from Grades 1-6 were present and attentive as they watched a variety of performances that marked the day and its importance. A special thank you to our visiting musicians, Mr. Molnar, Mr. Huang and Ms. McVean.

FRENCH IMMERSION

Also, please note that all applications are done online and are due by December 3rd.

DAY OF SILENCE

Friday November 20th is the Day of Silence. World Changers are raising awareness about children around the world whose basic rights have been denied (no access to education, child labourers, child soldiers, bullying, etc.).  To support this campaign, we are asking for SILENCE!

This is what we are planning:

1. Two school-wide moments of silence.
The first one will be after 1st recess from 10:15-10:45 am and the 2nd one will be after 3rd recess from 2:00-2:20 pm.

2. Movie "On the way to school" for Grades 3- 6 after lunch in the gym.
We are asking kids to make a Toonie donation as they enter the gym.  All money is donated to Free the Children.

ECO COMMITTEE UPDATE

Litterless Lunch Tip - Make your own yogurt! REALLY! You wouldn't believe the amount of waste on the playground that we saw last week from yogurt tubes and single-serving lids. Try making your own and reduce waste OR use our tips here to make a great yogurt parfait for your child that reduces the amount of sugar, increases nutrition and also cuts down on garbage.

Walk to School Wednesdays - Bundle up and keep walking! As the temperatures drop, let your hearts be warmed by the good thing you're doing for your body and the environment by walking to school! Keep up the good work parents and students!

Eco Fair at Wychwood Barns - Last weekend, we were inspired by the Eco Fair at The Barns. It had cool electric cars, other great local exhibitors AND free compost boxes! See more about the local fair here http://ecofairtoronto.org

Enjoy the long weekend, everyone! Remember tomorrow is a PA Day!
