The Fall Fling surely was a night to mark
With Darby Burger at the helm you could feel the spark
The parents were busy planting their bids
It was truly a blast, and yes, it was all for the kids
From the top of the mountains we shout and we scream

POLICE VISITS
Community Police Officer Stather joined us at Brown P.S. for three days this week. She spoke to students in Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 about various topics. These topics ranged from Internet Safety to Bullying to Traffic Safety, depending on the age of the children.
We feel so fortunate to have these great community helpers in to speak with our students.
SPORTS CORNER
Girls Basketball
Wed Nov 4th @ 7:15 am - Grade 6 Girls Basketball Tryout
Thurs Nov 5th @ 7:15 am - Grade 4/5 Girls Basketball Tryout
Friday Nov 6th @ 7:15 am - Final Tryout for Girls on the Basketball list posted on the bulletin board
Once the Girls Basketball Team list is posted, the team will practice every Monday, Thursday and Friday morning @ 7:15 am in the Gym (P. Profiti & V. Daigneau - Coaches)
Hockey
Wed Nov 11th & 18th - Tryouts take place at Forest Hill Arena (Grade 4 to 6 Boys & Girls)
Once the team has been selected, we will have a practice every Wednesday in November & December @ Forest Hill Arena from 7:30 to 8:30 am (P. Profiti - Coach)
Boys Volleyball
Both the Grade 6 & the Grade 4/5 Boys Volleyball Teams will practise regularly on Tuesday mornings @ 8:00 am and Thursdays @ 3:15 pm (C. Macdonald - Coach)
Primary Swim Team
Our Team is up and "Swimming" again!
Practices will continue on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Also, the dates of our upcoming Swim meets have been set (mark your calendars!)
Thursday November 26th @ Brown
Friday December 4th @ Hillcrest
Both meets will begin between 9:45-10:00 am
Parents please note:
If your child is unable to attend either meet, please let coaches know so we can make necessary adjustments to event sheets.

Trashy Tuesday - Another great success with beautiful weather. We ran out of gloves again and had a huge crew of children beautifying our Brown Environment. We were impressed by how little trash there was to pick up! Thanks to all of the JK/SK/GR1 and GR2 children that participated. Next Trashy Tuesday is December 1st!
Walk to School Wednesday - Walk while you can! The weather is beautiful and so are the leaves. Enjoy these mornings with your children discussing the beauty of the colours and inhaling the aromas of autumn.
