KISS AND RIDE - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!

Do you have 20 minutes twice a month to help our children get to school safely? Please contact Mary Ann Stewart about volunteering for our essential Kiss & Ride program. Now's the time to volunteer! This past week notwithstanding, you won't be standing in the snow!

AVENUE ROAD DROP-OFF

There is NO safe drop-off zone on Avenue Road.

1. Stopping on Avenue Road to let a child out of the car is extremely unsafe.

2. The North Driveway of the school is NOT ACCESSIBLE to parents. This area needs to be reserved for AUTHORIZED users only.

Please think twice before using either of these areas to drop off your children. WE HAVE CONTACTED POLICE SERVICES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND THEY WILL BE MONITORING THE DRIVEWAY AND AVENUE ROAD.

Driving around the block is a pain, but is it worth a life?

JR. SWIM TEAM UPDATE - CITY FINALS ARE COMING!

In the wee hours of March 23rd, Brown Junior Swim Team attended City Semi-Finals which was held at Harbord CI.

This was the first of three meets. With 50 hardworking, energetic, Panthers swimming, it was a strong showing from Brown. A special thanks to Jonah T's mom, Elize for volunteering that morning.

On Thursday April 14th  City Finals will take place at Rosedale Heights. All participants who swam at semi-finals & placed 6th place or higher (overall) will be invited to swim again, this time for medals/crests & possible banners! We call this "The top of the mountain"!

Please note, swimmers who have placed 7th & 8th will also be invited as "alternates". This is in the event that other schools swimmers are suddenly absent, alternates may have an opportunity to swim.

Very best of luck to our swimmers!

SCRABBLE NEWS!

Jack and Michael in Room 30 are going to Foxborough, Massachusetts (home of the New England Patriots) for the National Scrabble Championships!!

The competition runs this coming weekend and www.schoolscrabble.us is the live feed to watch them in action. Jack and Michael are the top Grade 6 team in Toronto and are the only team from Brown that has ever advanced beyond the semi-finals. The majority of the students they have faced, and will face are in Grade 8! They have certainly wowed us! We cannot wait to hear how this weekend goes! Go Panthers!

CHOIR

Please note that on Saturday, April 16, at 8:00 pm the Junior Choir performs at St. Martin-in-the-Fields with the Healey Willan Singers. The dress rehearsal is on Friday, April 15th.
