Water Polo 2012 

On Friday May 18th, our two Grade Six Water Polo Teams headed to Keele PS for a one day tournament. We enjoyed several games playing against other TDSB Teams, such as:

Keele, Allenby, Brown-Green team, Brown-Blue Team,D.A. Morrison and Lord Lansdowne.

The overall results:

1st Place-Allenby

2nd Place-Keele

3rd Place- Brown Blue Team

4th Place- Brown Green Team

5th Place- DA Morrison

6th Place- Lord Lansdowne

As Coaches we were so impressed with both our Water Polo Teams everyone played well, learned news techniques and left the Tournament feeling positive. ( and Tired!)

Junior Swim Team Announcement of Achievements 

On Thursday April 5th, our fifty-two member swim team headed to Harbour C.I. in the early morning to compete in the TDSB Qualifiers swim meet. The outcome from the Qualifiers swim meet was remarkable leaving forty swim team members eligible to compete on Monday, April 16th in the TDSB final swim meet held at Rosedale Heights.

Our members competed in their events with effortless perfection and skill earning them several placement ribbons and medals!

A outstanding achievement goes out to both our Grade Four Boys and Girls who won two Banners!
Our Boys won a "City Finalist", Black Banner and our Girls won a Green Banner for "overall points". During our Sports Assembly we recongized with pride the outstanding efforts of all our Junior Swim Team Members of 2012!

In addition, we extended a very special announcement to both our Grade Four Boys and Girls for their outstanding accomplishments on winning two banners which now hang proudly in our gymnasium.

Congratulations once again,to all of our Swim Team Members on a wonderful,successful Season!

Junior Swim Team

April brings....the Upcoming Junior Swim Meets!      

Swim Teams Finals

* Only Team Members who Qualified at the Qualifiers swim meet on April 5 were invited to compete in the finals at Rosedale Heights.

Date: Monday April 16th,2012.
Location: Rosedale Heights
Time: 9:00 am

Additional Information:

Method of Travel:  The Qualifier Semi-finals and finals Swim Meets the Team will travel by School bus.

Reminder: Members are reminded to meet their Coaches at Brown School in the Main hallway at 7:15 am sharp.

Lunch:  Please bring a bagged lunch. (Please inform Daycare your child will not require lunch the day of the swim meets.)

Please Note:
We encourage students to pack just their swim equipment, their bagged lunch in a separate bag/knapsack to take the swim meets. Any additional items will remain locked in the Aquatic area until we return from the swim meets.

Aquatics News - Jan 2012

Welcome Back!  We would like to wish everyone a very happy and healthy 2012! 

Recreational Noon Swim

Days: Monday and Wednesday

Time: 12:00 - 12:40 pm

Grade Level: 1-6

Please Note: Students must have their own swim equipment; remember to include a bathing cap. Thank you!

* We do not lend swim equipment during this program.

Junior Swim Team Information

During the weeks of January 9th through to January 31st, the swimming pool will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 12:40 pm. 

This will provide any Junior students interested in swim team the additional time and the opportunity to work on their strokes and improve their speed and endurance.

Junior Swim Team Try Outs

Junior swim team tryouts will be held during your child/children's swim class beginning the week of January 16th through to January 31st, 2012.

In early February we will post the successful candidates. Good luck to all!

Please Note:   Students are responsible to bring their own swim equipment. This should include goggles and bathing cap. Unfortunately, we do not lend swim equipment during this time.

Primary Swim Team

*Sign Up Sheets are available in the aquatic office*

Days: Tuesday and Thursday (Start date TBA)
Grades: 2 & 3
Requirements: Students must be comfortable in deep water and be able to swim one length.

Please Note:
During the month of October, primary swim classes we will be taught in a swim team format. Our focus will be on endurance, improving strokes, to build a understanding of individual racing, relays...lots of fun ahead!

*Swim team try outs will also be held during your child's class.

Noon Swim

Our noon swim program will begin the week of Monday September 12th. This program is available to our Students from Grades 1-6.

Days - Monday and Wednesday

Times - 12:00 - 12:40 pm

Grades- 1-6

All you need to remember is your swim suit, towel and bathing cap. Come out and enjoy the fun!

Primary Swim Team

The Primary Swim team will be announced to all Grade 2 and 3 classes in early October.
